Riding Lessons
Lessons for riders of all ability levels, ages five years old and up. We focus on safety, development, connection and communication with the horse, and, of course, FUN! We use the United States Pony Club curriculum to develop independent riders in low-level eventing (dressage, cross- country jumping, and show jumping). Offered in month-long packages.
Packages That Fit Each Rider: New and/or younger riders are encouraged to do our half-hour riding lessons. As the rider grows, we offer private and semi-private hour-long lessons as well.
Social and Emotional Learning Opportunities
All Social and Emotional Learning sessions are led by both a licensed riding instructor and an adjustment counselor. No horse experience is required. A half-hour riding lesson can be added before or after for an additional fee.
Pony Pride: Pony Pride helps students develop their self-esteem while learning about horses. Participants will spend half of each class interacting with horses — for example, learning how to groom a horse. In the second half, participants will explore topics that bridge their experiences with the horses with their experiences of themselves.
Horses and Humans : Horses and Humans helps students grow in social skills by being with (but not on) horses. Participants will spend half of each class interacting with horses — for example, learning how to groom a horse. In the second half, participants will build on their observations by thinking about social skills with human friends as well.
Equines and Equality: Equines and Equality is a weekly gathering opportunity for teens who
identify as LGBTQIA+. Participants will spend part of each hour getting to know the horses, and part getting to know each other in a safe, inclusive environment.
Horsemanship
Unmounted (non-riding), 90-minute lessons to develop knowledge about horses, their care, health, and management. Students learn to properly execute day-to-day horse care with a short lesson and hands-on
learning component. Offered in month-long packages.
